The Fort McMurray Animal Hospital was established in 1981 by Dr. Bob Gilbert. Over the past 30 years the clinic has grown into a multi-vet practice with state-of-the-art technology. Our clientele continues to grow year by year. We are equipped to handle a wide variety of medical conditions, including emergencies. Because we can perform many diagnostic procedures in-house, we can often give you immediate answers and start treating your pet faster. In some cases, your pet may require hospitalization and further diagnostic tests. Our clinic will be closed from December 23 - January 1st and we'll be reopening at 8am on January 2nd which will also be the start of our weekly on call rotation.

Please plan ahead and place food/medication orders in advance!

📢🩺🐾EMERGENCY SERVICES
It has been brought to our attention that clients may be under the impression that there are no longer any after hours services available in town.
We would like to remind everyone that we are still offering on call emergency services on a rotational basis every 3rd week.
Please note, we are *not* affiliated with any triage services. If your pet is experiencing an after hours emergency, simply call the clinic at 780-743-4044 and our voicemail will direct you on how to reach us.
We hope that you will not require this service, but we are here if you need us!🐾

UPDATE:📢
We will reopen on Thursday, May 16th, from 8 am until 4 pm. Please note that we are currently operating with a reduced staff due to ongoing evacuations. As a result, we have rescheduled elective surgeries for the time being. If you need food or prescription refills before the long weekend, please provide us with as much notice as possible.
We will be closed on Monday, May 20th, in observance of Victoria Day. In case of emergencies during the holiday weekend, our voicemail will provide instructions on how to reach a veterinarian.
As we know, things can change at any time and we appreciate your continued patience and understanding during uncertain times.

Due to the wildfires in our region, we will be closed tomorrow. Our priority is the safety of our staff, some of whom have already been evacuated. We are contacting clients with appointments scheduled for tomorrow and will get you rescheduled as soon as possible. We will reevaluate the situation tomorrow and keep you informed.
