Joyful Roots Health Coaching is a life coaching service centered around nutrition. I have a fundamental belief that the first and foremost thing you should eat every single day, before you eat anything else is Joy, Happiness and Passion! I work with clients to identify goals they want to achieve so they can have the life of their dreams! We work on the root problems holding them back from achieving these dreams. In the process I provide extensive information on nutrition and dieting to find out what "secondary foods" work best for them so they can have the energy and vitality to go out and grab onto the life of their dreams!

Stress is a part of our everyday lives that our bodies are incredibly capable of handling in small doses.

In extreme stressful situations, our nervous systems go into Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn modes to divert our energy for survival. It’s a beautiful way our brain is designed to keep us alive, but it can cause us to act differently than we normally would.

If you see someone acting unusual, take a moment to check in with them to see if they are ok.

Stress doesn’t just come from extreme events like wildfires and other natural disasters. Some people are living with chronic levels of stress due to family, financial, health or other challenges.

Taking a moment to show care and concern, instead of judgement and criticism, allows for feelings of connection and safety. Feeling safe helps to regulate our nervous systems, which can help us get back to functioning normally again.

Fort Mcmurray wildfire update:

Thank you to everyone who reached out with care, concern, offers of help, and prayers for rain! Your kindness was so appreciated during a stressful week. ♥️🙏🫶

Over the last few days we got tons of rain which allowed fire crews to get the fire under control and have the evacuation orders lifted so we could all go back home 🏡 🎉

A big thanks to all of the hardworking men and women who worked tirelessly to get the blaze under control. It takes a special kind of soul to run into an emergency situation when everyone else is running out. ♥️

When designing a wildly successful life, contribution sometimes gets left out of the strategic plan.

Contribution is how we connect to one another, give back, and leave a legacy. Even the smallest contribution can cause a ripple effect that will live on long after we are gone.

As our "external success" grows and we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor such as possessions, titles, and status, we may find ourselves longing for something a little more meaningful.

What do your health goals "look" like?

It's impossible to find something if you don't know what you are looking for.

Nelson Mandela said, "Action without vision is only passing time. Vision without action is merely daydreaming. But vision with action can change the world."

Can you see the thing that you want? Can you close your eyes and picture it? Could you describe it to me in detail if I asked?

One of the most powerful practices in getting anything that you want is to be able to see it in your mind as if it already exists.

Your brain can't tell the difference between a lived experience and an imagined one. So imagining what you are going to feel like once you have achieved your dream opens up channels in your brain that will make you believe you can have it. This in turn will open up channels to allow you to find ways to go out and get it.

Practice visualizing your dream. Close your eyes. Picture in as much detail as you can what your life will look like in this area, what it will feel like, what will be the same, what will be different. Examine every aspect, enjoy every feeling as if you already have it in your life. Don't worry about how you are going to achieve it at this point, that comes later in the process.

For now, simply bring it into your life through the process of visualization and enjoy how it feels. The strategy comes a little later...stay tuned!

Ever feel like "getting healthy" is BORING and a whole lot of HARD WORK? Ever feel like you "SHOULD" do it but don't really "WANT" to?

The reason most people feel this way is because they are not setting their sights on their REAL goals.

Good health on its own IS BORING! What is EXCITING is what you are going to use all your new found health for!

Is it to have more energy to play with your kids or grandkids? Is it to be able to walk or run in nature? Climb a mountain? Start a business? Go back to school? Find the love of your life? Make more money? Give back to your community?

Whatever your big goals are in life, your health is simply the vehicle that will allow you to get there.

So dig a little deeper into what your WHY is for your health and I bet you'll find everything a whole lot easier and more exciting! 💕💕💕

Vaccines are an extremely controversial topic these days. Just the mention of the word can cause fear and sensitivity for many people, regardless of which side of the debate they are on. I am sharing this video series on my page, not because I am for or against vaccines. I share because I believe that when it comes to our health, we should be able to ask as many questions as we need to make informed decisions about our bodies. No one should ever be criticized for seeking knowledge and truth, no matter what the topic. Remember to push your belly waaaaaay out while doing this. If it looks like a big balloon 🎈, you are doing it right! 👍♥️
