Mental Health Week kicks off today ๐Ÿ’š

This week is about coming together as a community to recognize that mental health is part of all of our lives. In the RMWB, we know the strength of our community and this week is a chance to lean into that by supporting one another, having honest conversations, and showing up with compassion.

You might see events, resources, and conversations happening throughout the region. We encourage you to take part in whatever feels right for you whether thatโ€™s attending something, learning more, or simply checking in with someone you care about.

We are so proud to be part of a community that continues to break down stigma and prioritize mental wellness. Letโ€™s start the week by showing up for each other ๐Ÿ’š

Your breathing is one of the fastest tools you can use to help your body regulate. Breathing techniques work by sending a message to your nervous system that youโ€™re safe helping slow your heart rate, calm racing thoughts, and bring you back into the present moment.

One simple technique you can try anywhere is 5-Finger Breathingโœ‹
Hold one hand out in front of you.
๐Ÿ‘‰ As you slowly trace up your thumb with your finger, breathe in
๐Ÿ‘‰ As you trace down, breathe out
๐Ÿ‘‰ Continue tracing each finger, breathing in as you go up and out as you go down
