At Sunset Recycle & Sales, we’re proud to be guided by the vision and values of our founder, Doug Golosky — a trailblazer, a mentor, and a true champion of Indigenous business and community growth in northern Alberta.
Doug’s leadership has always been defined by hard work, integrity, and innovation. From the early days of the Golosky Group of Companies to the creation of Sunset, his approach has never changed — build strong relationships, empower people, and always deliver with excellence.
His example is the foundation of everything we do at Sunset. Whether it’s our demolition operations, responsible recycling, or community partnerships, we continue to uphold the standards he set — honesty, safety, sustainability, and respect for the land and people we work with.
Doug’s belief that business should strengthen communities continues to inspire our entire team. Every project we take on reflects his vision of creating opportunity, fostering trust, and driving progress for future generations.
We’re proud to carry his name, his work ethic, and his legacy forward.
Meet Doug Golosky, Board Director for the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development & Tourism Board — a trailblazer, entrepreneur, and lifelong champion of opportunity in northern Alberta.
Born and raised in Fort McMurray, Doug began his career as a welder in the 1960s before founding Clearwater Welding & Fabricating in 1984 — the first of many successful companies that would later form the Golosky Group of Companies. Over the decades, his business ventures grew into a powerhouse that, at its height, employed around 1,500 people and grossed millions upon millions of dollars across Alberta’s energy sector.
Presently Doug has downsized and he now owns 4G Motorsports Fort McMurray, 4G Tempo, 4G Liquor, and Sunset Recycle & Sales, just to name a few.
A proud Indigenous leader, Doug has always viewed business as a tool for empowerment and community progress. His companies have provided countless apprenticeship opportunities and helped advance Indigenous participation in industry long before it became a national conversation.
Doug’s leadership and legacy have been recognized with numerous honours, including:
🏅 Induction into the Alberta Trades Hall of Fame (Inaugural Class)
🏅 Honorary Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from NAIT
🏅 Founder and Lifetime Member of the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA)
🏅 Indspire Award Nominee for outstanding Indigenous achievement
Beyond business, Doug is deeply rooted in service — mentoring youth, supporting trades training, and advocating for Indigenous entrepreneurship across Canada.
As one of Fort McMurray’s most influential business figures, Doug’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and dedication to community.
