In 2004 I started teaching Heart & Stroke CPR and moved onto teach Red Cross programs in 2005. I have had several opportunities to teach to many different audiences. I enjoy teaching these courses because it is shown that the better you prepared you are to handle emergencies the more chances of success, and the calmer a person will respond to the emergency. I have worked the last 19 years as a Reg

istered Nurse in geriatrics, psychiatry, rehabilitation, corrections, and at present rural acute care and emergency. I have also have a certificate in OH&S and I am currently in progress of completing an Emergency Nursing Certificate. My goal is to help people and it is shown that knowledge is power and when prepared the outcomes are more favorable..I look forward to helping people learn as medical incidents and emergencies can happen at any time. Heart and Stroke Foundation Course Description

Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest. It is designed for healthcare professionals and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings, and teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in pre-hospital and in-facility settings.

The Heart & Stroke BLS course offers:

The latest resuscitation science for improved patient outcomes. Realistic scenarios, simulations and animations depicting rescuers, teams and patients. Course and content flexibility for Heart & Stroke instructors and students, including adaptability to local protocols.

Intended Audience:
