Some client love 💝

1:1 virtual consults have been my jam lately.

If you ever have a virtual with me you can bet I have a heated blanket wrapped around my legs and feet 😅

So many mothers tell me they knew something wasn’t right with feeding long before anyone else noticed.

Sometimes that instinct is pointing toward a tongue tie.
Sometimes it’s body tension, positioning, or something else entirely.

But when feeding doesn’t feel right, it deserves more than a quick glance…it deserves a thorough assessment of oral function and whole-body feeding mechanics.

Your gut feeling as a mother matters.
Keep asking questions until you feel heard 🤍

I am here to...

‼️if you’re using a ni**le shield with no plan and no support to wean off of it get yourself an IBCLC ‼️

Wearables are friends, not enemies. BUT I don’t reccomend them as your day #1 pump or your bff pump.

There is a more appropriate time ✨watch until the end✨for them than say to use in the early days establishing supply.

With how inconsistent they are, I can’t tell you this is the one for you, that you need.

My job is (usually) to help you maintain the supply you want while preventing complications.

Not to recommend a product that could put it in
jeopardy.

How we prepare bottles matters just as much as how we offer them!

These are 3 of the most common mistakes I see and honestly guidance can feel confusing. Tap, boiled, sterilized - what’s actually safest?

Here’s what current evidence says 👇

⭐️For babies under 4 months (or if you’re unsure of your water source), boil fresh tap water for at least 2 minutes, then let it cool for about 30 minutes before mixing.

⭐️For older babies with safe municipal tap water, you can often use cooled tap water directly.

⭐️Always add water before formula powder, and discard any bottle that’s been sitting out for more than an hour.

Small details like these help protect your baby from bacteria that can live in powdered formula and make every bottle just a little bit safer.

Because feeding your baby isn’t just about the milk 🤍

Some days it feels heavy.
Other days it feels full.
Both can be true.

This is for the moms in the middle 💛

Posts like this ”signs it’s time to drop night feeds” can be damaging as they pathologize normal baby behaviour and pressure parents to ignore their instincts.

Feeding, sleeping and connection are deeply intertwined- not a checklist to fix

Your baby’s need to feed at night is a failure. It’s biology.

Daylight Savings + Babies:

This weekend, the clocks “fall back” one hour — which means your baby’s body clock doesn’t get the memo.

Here’s how to make the transition smoother 👇

✨ Option 1: Go with the Flow (for real life)
If you forget (because… parenting), don’t stress.
Keep going with the flow, even if it feels “early.”
Most babies adjust naturally within 5–7 days.

✨ Option 2: The Gentle Adjustment (for planners)
Start 4 days before — shift their typical feed and sleep 15 minutes later each day.
By Sunday, your baby will already be on the new time!

💡 Pro tips:
* Feed based on baby’s cues, not the clock
* If you’re worried about not meeting baby’s next feed set a timer ⏳NOT an alarm
* Get morning sunlight to reset their rhythm
* Keep bedtime calm and predictable

You can’t stop the clock — but you can roll with the flow knowing what’s ahead and make gentle shifts if they feel right to you ❤️

Save this for Sunday + share with a friend who’s dreading the 5 a.m. wakeup!

Offices work for some. For me, I’m not really a clinic space gal.

I’m a - let me come to you, IBCLC.

Theres something to be said about being in the comfort of your home. The place when you’re familiar and more relaxed. Hint, your baby will be too.

9/10 when in a clinic space I would hear “he / she is not usually like this” “it’s a bit harder here” or “oh I should have brought x,y,z.”

When those appointments would end I would feel like there were empty gaps and that’s not the level of support I wanted to provide.

I want to see how you set yourself up for feeding in the space you’re always feeding in.

-The environment

-What you’re using

-How you get yourself comfy and latch from there!

When I’m in your space with you, I can provide more personalized support. And that’s my JAM 💃

Because the things that seem small like how and where you set yourself up may actually be what we need to adjust!

When I’m with you in your home it’s easier to see what else you have readily available and how we can get creative!

This is also why I’ve also come to love virtual consults as you can show me all of these things in the moment while in your home 🏡❤️

👅 When feeding challenges go beyond the breast or bottle…

Sometimes the root cause isn’t your latch, position, or supply — it’s your baby’s oral function.

A restriction in the oral anatomy (tongue tie, lip tie, buccal tie) can affect how your baby feeds and how their mouth, palate, airway, and even sleep patterns develop over time.

If you’re noticing:
💧 Difficulty latching
💧 Painful feeds or damaged ni**les
💧 Gassy, colicky, or refluxy behavior
💧 Clicking, leaking, or coughing while feeding
💧 Restless sleep, snoring, or frequent waking

…it’s worth having a functional oral assessment by an IBCLC trained in oral motor skills and tethered oral tissues.

Why it matters:
🦷 Proper tongue movement helps shape the palate and airway
💨 Supports nasal breathing and deeper, more restorative sleep
🍼 Improves comfort and efficiency at the breast or bottle

Oral function is the foundation for feeding, breathing, and sleeping well.

⭐️Early support can make a lifelong difference.
