Calling all couples! Looking for a great way to celebrate Valentines Day with your partner? Not only will you be spending quality time together you will be relaxing & releasing tension on a physical & mental level. You both will feel refreshed and rebalanced! This retreat is designed for couples to spend quality time together in a supportive & comfortable atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Often there is not enough time in the day to truly enjoy mindfull activities together. Take this opportunity to connect & breathe with your partner while experiencing the many benefits of Yin yoga, Yoga Nidra-guided meditation & learn a mini Reflexology sequence to relax your nervous system, creating a deeper sense of peace & wellbeing for you and your partner.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced style in which the floor bases poses are rested in for two to five minutes allowing for a gentle, deep stretch. You will have the option of using props to support the body in any of the poses. The purpose of this yoga style is to apply moderate stress to the connective tissue - the tendons, fascia and ligaments - with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Beginners to yoga practice are welcome.
Reflexology is a science and art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands ears & face. The feet, hands, ears & face are microcosms of the body reflecting the entire body - all glands and organs. By applying pressure with the specific thumb and finger techniques, Reflexology will reduce tension, promote relaxation, increase circulation and bring the body back to balance/homeostasis.
Reflexology is a safe non-invasive and a truly relaxing treatment. It stimulates the para -sympathetic nervous system. The “Rest and Repair” part, which aim is to help the body heal itself and maintain a balanced state of health. We will be exploring mini sequences for the feet & face during this couples retreat. Prepare to have your partner melt into deep relaxation while you practice this amazing form of body work on one another.
We will close this class with Yoga Nidra aka Yogic sleep. This is a systematic guided meditation that encourages the release of physical, mental and emotional tensions.
