The FSJ Men's Shed could not be more grateful for this support we have received from the Fort St. John Co-op. Though this funding has helped provide a place to hang our hats, it isn’t just funding a building. It’s helping create a place of purpose, connection, and belonging.

We’re incredibly grateful, and we’re excited to put this support to work for the people of this region.

With much gratitude,
The Men's Shed

Last night was an extraordinary moment for the Fort St. John Men’s Shed.

We were honoured to be selected at the 100 Women Who Care Fort St John event, and we are still processing the generosity that filled that room. Because of the women who showed up, stood behind their community, and chose to act together, **$11,770** will now go toward the continued growth and development of the Men’s Shed in Fort St. John.

What makes this support especially meaningful is the trust behind it. These funds are not tied to a single project or narrowly defined outcome. They are entrusted to the broader purpose of building something lasting. That freedom creates space for creativity, expansion, and the kind of momentum that allows a community initiative to grow into its full potential.

Every woman in that room was **one of one hundred**, but together you became something far greater. Every seat filled was a quiet but powerful declaration that community matters, and that real change happens when people step forward together.

To the organizers, the steering committee, and every member who made the decision to participate—thank you. What you have built through this initiative is remarkable.

Bruce and I were proud to stand on that stage alongside the steering committee and represent the Men’s Shed. And for anyone wondering about my expression in the photo… I was doing my best to keep an uncontrollable grin under control. Sometimes gratitude is hard to hide.

Fort St. John continues to prove that when people come together with generosity and purpose, incredible things can happen.

No need to bring tools, unless you have a favourite screw-gun, because there are tools on site. Enthusiasm is more important than skillset because Steve Hunter (local carpenter and Board member with Stage North) has the designs done and skills to share.

The Men’s Shed is a place of camaraderie — where we work shoulder to shoulder on meaningful projects that strengthen our community.
We meet every Monday night to connect, share skills, and combat isolation through hands-on work and friendship.
Our weekly activities take place at #8, 10404-101 Ave. where members collaborate on community maintenance, woodworking, metalwork, and other projects that make a difference.
