Come back to your inner child and join us to add some stretch & play into your day.

BELLY BREATHING: A breath practice for FOR ENERGY
In our day-to-day lives we tend to take shallow breaths through the chest without even realizing it. An effective and easy deep breathing technique known as “belly breathing” or “diaphragmatic breathing” encourages the breath to slow down and we breathe deeper with each cycle of breath.
This technique can activate the parasympathetic or the rest and repair part of our nervous system. This is associated with calm and relaxation. However, improving the depth and quality of the breath also allows more oxygen to reach our organs and tissues. This allows the body to create more energy. Belly breath for energy can also increase blood flow, which can have an energizing effect on the body.

Benefits
1. Increases stamina
2. Increases muscular strength
3. Builds endurance
4. Improves digestion

How to practice this breathing technique.
Remember to always listen to your body and practice what feels right to you.
1. Either lying down or sitting upright be sure to make sure the spine is tall and straight & shoulders relaxed. Gently close your eyes.
2. Gently place one hand on your lower belly and one hand on your chest.
3. Begin by slowly breathing in through your nose and focusing on allowing your stomach to expand for the count of 5
4. Once your lungs feel full, exhale through the nose fully by allowing the lower belly to move inwards towards your spine for the count of 5. You may visualize a balloon expanding and contracting to support you when you are first learning this breath technique. Repeat several times. Notice how you feel.
The more you practice this breathing technique your inhales and exhales will become fuller and deeper . You’ll begin to expand your lung capacity.

Aerial Yoga Stretch! This is a beginner friendly class. Let your inner child come out to play. Aerial Yoga stretch is practiced in a hammock so you are able to experience the poses/movements in a whole new playful way. This anti-gravity style yoga helps decompress the spine, the supportive hammock allows for deeper stretches enhancing your overall flexibility and range of motion. This fun & motivating class helps to build strength in the body and mind while improving balance and coordination. Each 45 min class ends with a mindful & relaxing savasana. There are 8 hammocks available per class. Come hang out with us at Blue Moon Yoga & Wellness Studio. Friday's @ 9:15am
