It's been a fu***ng week, and I've hard a hard time finding the proper words. We said good bye to our boy Duke today. My heart aches and my soul feels empty. This is a level of grief I wasn't expecting.

Do it, guys, Do it. Do the damn thing. Learn as you go, think on your feet. Stop camouflaging yourself to stay safe in the shadows. We have all the reasons why we haven't made moves yet. It's not the right time yet, I haven't perfected the thing, what if people reject it? Take all your excuses and trash them. Are you intimidated by your own power? You do realize you're powerful, right? Harness that s**t and share your light with the world.

It's been quiet around here lately. My instinct is to apologize, but that's a people pleasing habit I'm trying to break. Sorry, not sorry.

We really took advantage of this three weeks off and soaked up every minute of the sunshine ☀️ it was a much needed reset.

Where you do fill your cup from? Nature? Food? Healers? Instagram? Memes? A good three hour scroll on TikTok?

I decided I was going to try a new one for me. Forest bathing. It's a term that came up in a session last year. Barefoot wanders and quiet admiration. Connecting with the Earth. And then again, the encouraging nudge to be indulging in the rich soil came up in a session last week. I took it as a sign, packed up the kids and headed away from civilization. I thought a week in the bush would help me feel more grounded, but I feel more restless than before. Insert some form of caged bird analogy here.

We're all out here looking for guidance from outside sources. The search for external validation that honestly, none of us really need, but our egos really enjoy.

Where can you be implementing healthy boundaries in your life?

This is something I struggle with often. I'm learning that boundaries aren't a form of punishment, but instead, a form of self love.
This doesn't apply only to relationships with others but maybe most importantly, our relationships with ourselves.

Creating and enforcing boundaries can be intimidating AF: especially as a people pleaser. The fear of disappointing others, or worse, the fear of rejection or abandonment can keep us in these cycles. Healthy boundaries don't have to look like burning bridges or building walls.

This week, I'm honouring my boundaries by signing out of my social media addiction and spending some time fostering genuine connections in nature.

Guys, I am ready for camping season. We usually kick it off with May long weekend. It's usually cold, sometimes rainy but always fun.

What I was NOT ready for was having to rebuild the entire front end of our trailer. We had bought it from a friend, knowing there had been a previous leak but not knowing the extent. We brought it home from storage this weekend and s**t went sideways. Real fast.

So here we are. 3 weeks till camping season and a giant hole in the roof. Lucky for me, my husband is handy and can tackle this project.

Me on the other hand? I'm fine. It's fine. Everything's fine.

Lesson learned, friends. Seal your roofs or you'll be sleeping in a tent. 🏕️

Have you listened to your body today?
I waged a war this morning. My head wanted a day on the couch with trashy tv while my body needed movement and nourishment.
So today we compromise. We move, we eat, we work, we tidy and then we let ourselves rest. It is the perfect afternoon for a book in the sun.

Happy Earth Day friends 🌏🌎🌍

We love a good adventure, and any adventure with this crew is a good one. Feeling lucky to be able to expose our children to the wonders of the world.

Growing up, my family did a lot of trail walks. Living in BC, the vegetation was lush, the air was damp and the walks were freakin loooooong. As an adult, I have an appreciation for those types of walks and we try to do them as often as we can.

as much as I love the beach, I think my soul belongs in a mountain forest somewhere. 🗻
