The Volunteers of the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital Auxiliary are celebrating 60 years of service to health care in our community. (Over $392,000 dedicated to equipment, programs and educational bursaries) We invite you to join us Wednesday May 6 from 11:00 - 3:00 for tea/coffee and cookies as we look back over some of our highlights of the last 60 years and look forward to the next 60.

The Hospital Gift Shop Volunteers are looking forward to celebrating 60 years of promoting health and wellness in our Hospital and Community. We are grateful to the many generous and creative crafts people in our community and we appreciate the amazing handcrafted items that have been donated over the years.

Meet Sandra - she is another 2nd generation Gift Shop Volunteer. She has lived and worked in Fort Saskatchewan for 58 years and loves it here. When she was looking for a way to give back after she retired, her mom recommended the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoys the Gift Shop and appreciates that all the money goes toward patient care. Her entire family, at one time or another have been patients in our hospital and they are all extremely grateful to have such an incredible service in our city. The work is fun and easy and she enjoys meeting and chatting with people from all over the province.
One of her most memorable experiences at the shop was meeting a young lady who was coming in to get a CT scan for a brain tumor. As they chatted she found out that she knew the patient's surgeon at the UofA. She assured her that she was in great hands and they became “friends” on Facebook. Sandra has since followed her new facebook friend's journey through surgery and recovery.

Meet Carole and Ann, our Wednesday Gift Shop Team. Carole started with the Auxiliary just before the old Hospital closed and Ann joined in the fall of 2012, just after our new Hospital opened. They were both interested in keeping busy and finding something worthwhile to do with their time. They both enjoy chatting with the customers and currently ensure that the unit has a supply of our 'I was Born in the Fort' newborn onsies that we gift to every baby born in our hospital.

Meet Judy, as well as taking volunteer shifts at the shop, she also serves as Hospital Auxillary President. Her mother was the Founding President of the Hospital Auxiliary and she decided she wanted to help out as well. Almost 15 years later, she still enjoys chatting with people and helping out however she can. One of Judy's volunteer highlights was giving tours of the new hospital when it first opened in 2012

We have a wonderful selection of hand crafted greeting cards to cover any occasion. Each one is unique and comes with its own envelope. They have all been donated by a very generous crafty donor. Thank you for your support!
