EHN Edgewood Rockies provides an immersive ranch recovery experience with Leading-edge programs and expert, dedicated staff in a safe, serene natural setting in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in British Columbia. EHN Edgewood Rockies located in the Canadian Rockies in British Columbia, offers a beautiful and serene treatment centre providing therapy for substance and behavioural addictions as well as concurrent mental health disorders. This private inpatient treatment centre provides clients with the opportunity to recover in a soothing environment that deeply focuses on; withdrawal care, individual and group therapy, counselling, and aftercare.

Serving in the RCMP often comes with great pride, but also exposure to psychologically traumatic events.

As a result, nearly half of RCMP members are struggling with mental health disorders. The stigma around speaking about it and the low intent to seek help only make matters worse.

Normalizing conversations around mental health and access to effective treatment are both needed to help the recovery process.

Tony Lehal, Manager of Alumni Relations and Colin Reid, Executive Director of Red Deer Recovery Centre are joined by the Premier of Alberta, Danielle Smith at Sober Stampede this year.

This exciting annual event held in the heart of Calgary provided attendees with live music and concerts, food stands, local vendor shops, and other family-friendly events in an alcohol-free environment.

“Boys don’t cry.” “Tough it out.” “Be strong.” Common phrases men heard too much growing up, and it’s impacting their ability to admit when they need help.

The first step is breaking down the stigma around mental health disorders and the notion that showing emotion is a sign of weakness.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Let’s work together towards creating an atmosphere of support and compassion for those who are struggling.

Overcoming addiction, trauma, and mental health disorders is never a solo effort. And that’s never more true than with Canada’s First Nations communities.

EHN Canada is committed to providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care to Indigenous clients and to supporting the healing and well-being of Indigenous communities.
We recognize the importance of learning from Indigenous leaders and perspectives and we strive to incorporate this knowledge into our programs.

To support EHN Edgewood's Indigenous clients today we are starting our day with a guest, Peter Mckay, opening with a prayer and a song. We are also doing a ceremony and cedar brushing later in the day. Mary Hill, clinical counsellor, will make cedar roes with the patients in the afternoon, and for lunch, we have asked the kitchen to prepare bison stew and scow bread.

Does living in recovery mean avoiding the celebrations? Not for everyone.

As more and more people are sober, it makes sense that more and more alcohol-free beverage options are popping up.

In fact, consumption of low-alcohol and no-alcohol products in Canada will increase by a third by 2026.

EHN Edgewood Rockies, a secluded treatment facility, remains a sanctuary where individuals can heal amidst breathtaking landscapes.
