I blinked and summer is halfway gone.... [Back to] school is around the corner. My small human is getting progressively less small, at an alarming rate, and starting to look forward to school.

Personally I'm trying to enjoy each summer day as it happens. Mixed results, admittedly, but enjoying the moments does help make the summer last.

Do you ever wonder what I do on weekends? Me too! 🤣 It varies a lot, but this weekend I'm sewing! How about you?

I started sewing when we were locked down the first time. Then I broke my machine! So I also learned how to do my own maintenance, and that led me to refurbish an industrial sewing machine!

I love making people feel better. I also love the creative process involved in sewing!

I inherited my love of creating and fixing from both of my parents. My mother is a mixed media artist. AllieArts is her page if you want to check out some of her cool creations. She makes art look way easier than it is! I don't think there's an art that mom doesn't do. Scratch that. I remember! Knitting. Mom doesn't knit 🤣. She also makes magical gardens! I often swear you could give her a fossilized leaf and the next week she would have grown it into a flourishing plant!

My dad likes to make and fix things too, but he prefers mechanical things. One of the highlights in my life is rebuilding my '97 Jeep TJ with him. He now does small engine repair and maintenance for fun. Lawnmowers, w**d eaters, gators, Argos, snowblowers, ATVs. He can fix anything from a broken heart to the crack of dawn I hear! Clearly he's my mechanical inspiration.
