Behind these doors marks a new start to a journey I have been on since 2015 👣 Over the years, my mindset has changed but I feel I am exactly where I need to be this time!

I am so proud and grateful I have found my tribe 🧘🏼‍♀️ And I can't wait to share what's behind this door with you! Our bars will be finished this weekend and the room will soon be tranformed into a place for everyone to heal, relax and find peace with their mind, body & soul 🙌

When I meet people for the first time and I say that I'm a massage therapist, their eyes light up! 😍 but when I tell them "I massage with my feet", I often receive the look of them being extremely grossed out by feet or the lost puppy look as they're trying to picture things 🤣

Let me reassure you, you likely won't be able to tell the difference between my feet and hands, and if you do, you're not relaxed enough to enjoy your treatment 🤪 Also, it can be a bit to wrap your head around at first but once you see the parallel bars, it will all make sense.

Currently, my practice space is undergoing a new face-lift which involves a new wall, door, some paint and much love from S&D to transform the studio. My massage bars will be going up in the next few weeks, and I hope to be back to stepping on you by early November 🤞😬 so stay tuned for all the updates!

Either way, I can't wait to get back to practice and see you all again soon! 👣☯️

But for those of you who have never tried it before, what are you waiting for?! Maybe this is the first time you've ever heard about it, maybe you've been dying to try it but you're just unsure... whatever your reason may be, let me help you envision things 🧘🏼‍♀️

What is Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage Therapy?

The ancient art and therapeutic practice of barefoot massage is best known in North America as the Japanese term "Ashiatsu", "ashi" (foot) & "atsu" (pressure). For safety of both the therapist and the client barefoot massage is typically performed on a massage table with overhead parallel bars to ensure stability and precision of strokes. Swedish style, relaxation or deep tissue techniques can be achieved using the feet: the therapist uses bare, lubricated feet to engage the tissue with broad compressive effleurage and petrissage to create structural change in the soft tissue.

Why Ashiatsu vs. traditional hands-on?

The gliding strokes of ashiatu barefoot massage therapy offer the experience of incredibly consistent pressure and an incomparable sensation of flow. The therapist is able to use the broad rounded surfaces of their feet to apply greater pressure without causing the residual tenderness and pain that clients often report following a deep tissue massage given using elbows and fingers.

Well, hello there! 👋

It's me, your favourite Barefoot Massage Therapist 😁

For those of you who did not know, I have been busy on our Homestead! Our family has grown, as we now have two beautiful children, and our gardens have gotten even bigger 🤣

Now, the moment you have all been waiting for! I will be returning to practice, sooner than anticipated, and I am beyond excited to share this wonderful news!

Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to work from home, but I am excited to announce that I will be joining Zenergy Health & Wellness in Frankford! They offer a wide range of health, nutrition, holistic, and overall wellness and so much more to their community! Shawna & Derek, who are the heart and soul of this studio, welcomed me with open arms as they made me feel like I was right where I needed to be when I met them! In the studio, there are also 3 other RMTs that offer unique and diverse modalities that will be very rewarding to enjoy!

I can't wait to share this space with you in November! 🍂
