The pain or regret or the pain of doing the thing(s)...
Sometimes l will choose the pain of regret because my assumption is that the pain of "doing" will be too much.
Sometimes I choose the pain of doing because I need connection, or a burst of joy, or movement, or I can't handle another regret, or simply because I want to do life, and not let it pass by!!
This hike on Aug 31 was tougher than I anticipated physically, but I'm so glad I said yes! There was connection, joy, movement, zero regrets, and a delicious scone with a tremendous view.
I can't always choose no regrets, but when I can - I will!!

What does 'Healthy Eating" even mean??
It's subjective.
It's complicated.
It's individual.

Food is not a moral issue.
You are not good or bad based on what you eat.

All my dieting years, I was mad at MYSELF for not 'getting it right'. How could I, there is no ONE way to eat 'healthy'. And still I blamed myself, my body, my 'lack of willpower'...

You are not the problem! The over abundance of information/MISinformation is. The fatphobia in dietetics is. The medical gaslighting of it being 'our fault' is.

No one in our house is going back to school this year… but I still feel that familiar flutter of excitement.

There’s something about fall... the cooler mornings, the turning leaves, the smell of pencils (love me some stationary) and possibility that brings a sense of new beginning. A quiet return to rhythm. A craving for routine, reflection, and maybe even reinvention.

Even if your calendar isn’t changing, your energy might be.
You might feel the pull to reset your intentions, refresh your space, recommit to what matters.
And that matters, too.

So here’s to the unofficial new year!

To cozy structure, slow mornings, and steady growth.
To fresh notebooks, hot drinks, hoodies and small promises to ourselves.

I’m ready. Are you?

Let's talk about pain...

It’s been a while since I’ve spoken about my fibromyalgia… but the truth is, the recent flare-ups have been rough. The kind of pain that seeps into everything. The kind that makes even the smallest movement feel like climbing a mountain.

I’m still doing what I can, when I can and listening closely to my body. Some days, that means rest is the only movement I get.

And honestly? It’s exhausting.
Not just the pain itself, but the constant adjusting, the negotiating with my own energy, the mental load of deciding what’s worth the effort.

I share this because I know so many of you are navigating your own invisible battles. It’s easy to look “fine” on the outside while feeling anything but fine on the inside.

If that’s you, I see you.
If you’re doing what you can, when you can that’s enough.

I didn’t start walking, practicing yoga, lifting weights, or drinking protein drinks to shrink myself (this time).
Not to chase a before-and-after.
Not to earn my worth.
Not to attain a different size.

I do these things because they help me feel more like me.
More grounded.
More present.
More connected to my strength, both the kind you can see, and the kind you can’t.

This body of mine? It’s already good.
I move it because I can (because sometimes I couldn't/can't), not because I need to change it.
I nourish it because it’s mine, not because I’m trying to mold it into someone else’s ideal (so grateful to be past this).

This is what reclaiming movement and nourishment looks like.
This is what liberation feels like.

I am reclaiming wellness, not following a trend!!

This class has become such a special part of my week and clearly, I’m not the only one. It’s always been one of my most popular offerings, and I think I know why...

During our opening sequence (pictured here), we set the tone and intention for the evening. Some nights it’s reflective and grounded. Other nights, it’s filled with laughter and lightness. Either way, connection is the thread that weaves it all together.

Connection to your body.
To each other.
To the world around you.
To the quiet wisdom within.

Come as you are: soft pants, tender heart, and all.

During my practicum, I was invited to create a mandala as part of an art-based self-reflection. What seemed like a simple task ended up shaking something loose in me.

I was still pretty stuck in old stories; perfectionism, rigidity, needing to do things the “right” way. I hadn’t truly begun my deconstruction journey yet, and this project pushed me. I found it so hard to create without overthinking, without trying to impress, without controlling the outcome.

That mandala challenged me more than I expected… and it also cracked me open.

I don’t use art in my therapy work all that often, but I have a deep appreciation for those who do. Personally, creative practices have become quiet companions on my own healing path helping me meet myself with curiosity instead of critique.

That first mandala wasn’t perfect. But it was real and a true reflection of who I though I was. And in some ways, it marked the beginning of becoming who I am now.
