World Delirium Awareness Day is an annual event that is held in the second week of March to raise awareness about delirium and its impact on patients, families, and healthcare systems.

At least one in four Nova Scotians in hospital screen positive for delirium every day. Delirium, a sudden change in thinking, is a common and underrecognized condition and an important topic for healthcare professionals, persons with dementia, and care partners.

Exciting News!

Horizon’s Seniors Health program is partnering with Zoomers in Balance to offer quarterly education sessions for seniors online!

The first virtual session is on Feb. 19, 2026 at 1 p.m AST. and is titled:
Cognition and Aging: What’s Normal, What’s Not, and How to Protect your Brain.
