We are so excited to announce that Heidi Newman will be joining us this New Year as a counselling student! Heidi is now accepting clients at lower costs, with potential for pro-bono clients as well. To reach out to Heidi, send us a message or email her at MacNeil.MBSWellness@gmail.com

Heidi is passionate about helping people overcome their personal challenges, and her goal is to create a space that is warm and welcoming, where clients can feel safe, seen and heard.

She has background training in Wellness Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Guided Meditation and Reiki, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology, and a Holy Fire Reiki Master Certification.

Heidi enjoys using a CBT and Strengths Based approach for challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues.

Hello there! I have a Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology and I'm a Licensed Counselling Therapist-Candidate with CCTNB. I'm also a Certified Anxiety Specialist with training in maternal mental health. I work with moms, new moms and moms-to-be looking to overcome anxiety, intrusive thoughts, general stress management, self-esteem, transition to motherhood and infertility. Using elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), ACT and mindfulness, I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey between the therapist and client. My clients can expect to arrive at a space that is warm, gentle, non-judgmental, encouraging, compassionate and focused on individual personality and needs.
As a mom of identical twin boys, Elementary School Teacher and School Counsellor for close to 20 years, I'm very passionate about helping moms find themselves again. Becoming a mom is hard and not realistically portrayed in the media, societal messaging or other commonly-consumed content. It’s both normal and valid to feel ALL the emotions. Successful motherhood often means not having all the answers. In my work with you, I bring not only lived experience but a deep sense of empathy. My goal is to instill hope and help you feel like yourself again. Together we will find solutions that work for you while honouring your story.
