🎉 Exciting news to kick off Fall 2025! 🎉

I’m honored to share that my practice has been awarded Bronze in the Counselling category of Community Votes Fredericton 2025! 🥉

This recognition means so much because it comes from the community I care deeply about. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who took the time to vote and support my work — your encouragement makes all the difference.

It’s a pretty wonderful way to return from vacation, and a reminder of why I love what I do: helping people move from simply surviving to truly thriving. 💙

Here’s to another year of growth, connection, and supporting mental wellness in Fredericton and beyond. 🌿

This is such an important message. This is a deeper explanation and understanding of how trauma manifests and occurs. Thank you, Gabor Maté

This post pokes a bit of light heartedness at emotional abuse but for those who have had this lived experience, there’s nothing “fun” about it. It’s painful, hurtful, and makes people feel awful. If this cycle seems familiar, you need to know that it is NOT OK, it’s emotional abuse, and you deserve so much better than this. ❤️‍🩹💙❤️‍🩹 Reach out for support in how to break this cycle.

It's that time again! I am doing another Emotional Regulation group this fall. It is loosely based on the STEPPS program but I have modified it so it is not just for people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder; anyone who struggles with emotional regulation can benefit from this group. Please feel free to email with any questions. See you in the fall!

To all my lovelies that struggle with judgement, hear THIS:

"Passing judgment on others won't limit their potential, it will only set up a bar of expectation around your own. The thing about judgement is that it appears to outward, but truly takes place inward. You create your own rules around what you deem acceptable or not, and then you must live by them. The more time you spend searching for reasons to invalidate another person's journey, the more you delay your own progress, your own growth. Healing is moving out from beneath the weight of your self-disapproval. It is unpacking the ways in which you've tied limiting beliefs around your concepts of the people around you, and recognizing how often your image of them was a projection of something you were unaware of within yourself. When you judge, you end up punishing yourself more than anyone, or anything else." - Day 195, The Pivot Year by Brianna Wiest

Irritability is the first sign your polyvagal state (nervous system) state has changed. The best part is: you can help your body go back into ventral vagal (a parasympathetic state.) Eat fat or protein— it’ll stabilize your blood sugar. Then move your body, a brisk walk is the quickest and most accessible way. You have much more control over your mood and emotional state than you know

After 7,000 hours of intensive training (mostly napping through my sessions), Sugar has officially graduated from the prestigious Counselling Dogs of Canada Program in Empathetic Listening. She’s now fully certified to stare into your soul, sigh at the perfect moment, and offer unconditional support—no judgment, just cuddles. Book a session today and let Sugar hold space for you (and maybe steal your seat).
