Clients go through a lot during session, and having someone (or some being) close for the hard parts, always proves to soothe.
This client was unpacking some childhood trauma while using Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Sugar was right beside her, loving on her the whole time. Dogs are magic. Unpacking decades old trauma can be magic too. You won’t regret it. ☀️🩵

Even though I have long retired from working as a Child Therapist, developmental trauma is always something I am engaged in because it doesn’t just affect the child; it affects the child that lives within all of us, forever.
I’m currently studying the Polyvagal Theory and stumbled upon this video again. If you are a parent, a grandparent, or are just interested in learning more about yourself, watch this video. It is heartbreaking if you imagine that this experiment was actually real life for so many of us.
I stand by my belief; parenting is the hardest job in the world.
