NuVista Psychedelic Medicine

NuVista Psychedelic Medicine True North Psychological Services is dedicated to helping all those who suffer from mental health issues. We practice a holistic approach to mental health.

How we think, feel and behave is the result of complex interactions between our biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. The therapeutic approaches our team uses take each of these factors into account.

Starting support can bring up a lot of questions, and that’s completely understandable.

At Nuvista Psychedelic Medicine, we believe the process should feel clear, supportive, and never rushed. Care typically begins with a conversation, a chance to understand your needs, answer questions, and explore what support might look like for you. From there, the next steps are guided thoughtfully, with a care plan that can evolve as your needs change over time.

You don’t need to have all the answers or make big decisions right away. One step, taken at your pace, is enough to begin.

We’re here to support you whenever you’re ready.

VAC assessments help document how military service has impacted your mental or physical health, and that documentation is often what helps unlock access to funded care through Veterans Affairs Canada.

For many veterans, an assessment is a required step in accessing services such as therapy, psychiatry, and other treatment options. By clearly outlining how service-related experiences affect your health and daily life, the assessment helps ensure the right supports can be considered and put in place.

This process can also bring practical benefits, including improved access to care, financial relief through coverage, and clear documentation that supports your ongoing treatment needs. While navigating VAC requirements can feel overwhelming, you don’t have to do it alone.

Our team has extensive experience working with veterans and VAC processes, and we’re here to help guide you through each step with clarity and care.

We’ll guide you through this step.

At Nuvista Psychedelic Medicine, how we deliver care is shaped by experience and by listening.

Years of working alongside veterans have shown us that care works best when it’s coordinated, thoughtful, and grounded in understanding. Those insights guide how our teams collaborate, how assessments are approached, and how care plans evolve over time.

We don’t rely on assumptions. We learn, adapt, and improve based on real experiences and what veterans tell us matters most.

We’re committed to continuing to evolve with you.

Working with a team that truly understands veterans can make care feel different from the very beginning.

At Nuvista Psychedelic Medicine, some members of our team are veterans themselves. Others have spent years supporting veterans and RCMP members in clinical settings. That shared understanding both lived and learned shapes how we listen, how we ask questions, and how we approach care.

It means you do not have to over-explain your background or justify your experiences. Care is delivered with respect, awareness, and an understanding of the realities that come with service.

If you are considering support, working with a team that understands where you are coming from can make the first step feel easier.

Understanding matters.

Family can mean many things.
It can be the people who raised you, the family you’ve built, the ones who stood beside you in service, or the people who support you now.

Today, we’re thinking of veterans and their families. Spouses, partners, children, caregivers, and chosen family; who often carry the weight of service together.

We know that family life after service can come with its own challenges. Stress, transitions, injuries, and mental health struggles don’t affect just one person. They touch the whole family, that’s why we believe care works best when it supports the individual and the people around them.

On this Family Day, we want to remind you that you’re not alone and support is available! Your well-being matters. To you, and to those who care about you.

From all of us at Nuvista Psychedelic Medicine, we’re wishing you and your loved ones a meaningful Family Day.

If you or someone in your family could use support, we’re here to help when you’re ready.

You do not need to know which program you need before reaching out, and you do not need to navigate this process on your own!

If you are feeling unsure about where to start or worried about choosing the wrong option, you are not alone. Many veterans feel that pressure. At Nuvista Psychedelic Medicine, your role is not to figure everything out ahead of time. Our role is to listen, understand what you are dealing with, and help guide you toward care that fits your needs. That might be therapy, CBT I, psychedelic medicine, or another form of support.

Getting started usually begins with reaching out on your own or through a referral. From there, we have a conversation to understand your experiences and answer your questions. If you are using or applying for VAC benefits, assessments are often part of the process. These assessments help document how service has impacted your mental or physical health and are typically required to access funded services like therapy, psychiatry, or other treatment options.

Our team is experienced with VAC processes and can help guide you through what is needed, what documentation is required, and what comes next. Once assessments are complete, care recommendations are made with your benefits in mind, services can be coordinated, and your care plan can continue to evolve over time.

You can start with questions. You can take it one step at a time. You do not have to decide everything at once.

Support starts with understanding.

When a psychiatrist helps guide your care, the process becomes clearer, safer, and more supported.

At Nuvista Psychedelic Medicine, care begins with a comprehensive psychiatric assessment. This helps us understand your mental health history, current symptoms, medications, and how your service has impacted you over time.

From there, medications are reviewed thoughtfully, and next steps are discussed based on what makes the most sense for you. Recommendations are made with your overall well-being in mind, taking into account both your goals and the supports available to you.

Because our psychiatry team works closely with our medical and mental health teams, care decisions are informed, coordinated, and intentional, not rushed or left to guesswork.

You do not need to figure this out alone.

If you are ready to explore guided, veteran-centred care, book your consultation with Nuvista Psychedelic Medicine today!

Many veterans are not told that there are a few different ways to begin the VAC assessment process, and having options can make the first step feel more manageable.

You may be able to start by reaching out directly to Veterans Affairs Canada, using your My VAC Account online, or working with a clinic that has experience supporting veterans through VAC assessments.

If you are unsure which route makes the most sense for you, that is completely okay. Our team regularly supports veterans through this process and can help explain your options, clarify next steps, and guide you from start to finish.

We're here to make things easier, so you don't need to navigate everything alone. If you have questions about VAC assessments or want support getting started, we are here to help!
