My Grief Journey
Grief is a part of everyone’s life and mine began when I was 4 months old as my parents were in a car accident which took the life of my father and sent my mother to the morgue. Someone noticed that my mother was still breathing and due to her facial injuries they performed a tracheotomy to save her life. She used to tell me that she died and went to heaven then was sent back to earth to take care of me.
As life is, mine continued with many grief experiences that I will not share here, however, those experiences have allowed me to understand and help people begin to heal. What I began to realize was all the losses we experience create emotions of Grief. My journey would lead me to work with people who needed support and at the age of 50, I decided to specialize in the area of “Grief Recovery”. I have a certificate of specialization for Grief Recovery and one for Critical Incident Stress Management. One thing I learned was the many losses (other than death) that have been identified through the years such as: miscarriage, loss of health, loss of job, loss of home, divorce, loss of finances and so many more.
Over the years, I have conducted group and individual programs and no longer require payment for my services. Instead, an agreed upon amount with client(s) is offered toward an agency as a charitable donation.
If you or anyone you know can benefit from my services, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!
