We need your help. The following list of validated concerns by the United Nations and OECD, 2019-21 describe the state of affairs of the Disabled in Canada. The Disabled represent 20% of the population of Canada and deserve full representation in Parliament and Cabinet.
The current structure as defined by the Accessible Canada Act (ACA 2019) divides responsibility across all Ministries of government with no cohesive oversight, reporting, auditing, or penalties.
Initial planning and oversight was provided by Carla Qualtrough however she is also managing other Ministries.
Everything the United Nations discusses regarding these issues require OVERT actions and legislative changes, not policy.
The current proposed timetable for the implementation of what has been currently agreed to by Parliament extends well into 2040-50, this is unacceptable.
Not only is this an outrageously long timetable but up to this point, every agreement surrounding these issues have been hopelessly behind schedule (Onley report 2019, Jordan's Principle) even though the federal government has agreed that systemic discrimination has occurred (Accession Canada UNCRPD 2018-19).
LIST OF CONCERNS
UNCRPD, Article 12 not Ratified by the Parliament of Canada (Optional Protocol)
Seniors in ‘Long Term Care’, i.e., under guardianship, (the Disabled) were the most harmed by Covid-19 with 70-80% of all deaths occurring to this community.
Massive spike in su***de rates of those with mental health and related systemic issues due to Covid-19. Reports show a 100% plus increase in the su***de rates of related communities such as youth, Indigenous, poor, poverty, disabled.
PLEASE NOTE; the previous statistic does not include these numbers. Over the past 10 years (youth Atlantic Canada) su***de has risen by at least 100% (OECD)
Refusal by provinces to recognize Jordan's Principle.
Triage of the Disabled proposed (enacted) by many provinces during Covid-19
The role of the CRA in the determination of a Disability.
No accountable government Minister.
Bank Act of Canada is discriminatory and access to funding outside of charity is not available.
Criminal Justice system extremely skewed.
Massive unrecognized liability related to the care of the disabled by the state under guardianship, i.e., the Cornwall Inquiry, The Miller Inquiry, Jordans Principle, etc.
Complete breakdown of support services for front line workers (EMT) during Covid.
Massive scale of complaints related to the care of Disabled Veterans.

Unemployment rate of Disabled Persons in Canada is estimated at 50-80%
Rate of poverty of Disabled Persons in Canada is estimated at 50-80%
Independent living virtually ignored as a component of a Federal housing strategy.
Thank-you.
