This is Clementine's first child, Justin Morris (Barton) Brown. He was born on February 24, 1891 (Mass. U.S.) and died on May 9, 1980 (Kennebunk, ME, U.S.). No Father is recorded on his birth certificate, leaving such a large gap in this line of the family tree. The U.S. census of 1930, records that his Father was from Canada and was French. This is about the only clue I have ever found to date re: his Father.

This is Clementine's third youngest daughter, Ethel Douglass (b 1905). She was the third youngest of Clementina and Thomas J. Douglass. She married Perley McGaghey. They lived in Atholville and had three children, Kevin, Merlene and Ulton. Merlene is the only one still alive. Ulton's family still lives in Atholville. His wife Therese is still living. I had the opportunity to meet Kevin (and his wife Beth) and Therese (and her children) in the past.

On this day in 1891 the first descendant of Clémentine Bertin was born. Justin Morris Barton (my paternal grandfather) was born to Clementine Bertin who was born in Bathurst, NB, but who moved at some point to the Boston area. When she moved to Boston, she Anglicised her name to Clementina Barton. She later married William Brown and that's when Justin Barton took the last name Brown. And as they say, "the rest is history".
