It's been a while since we posted something, but since Easter is coming up - this might be pertinent.
DID YOU KNOW? Too much consumption of 'free sugar' can indeed have negative impacts on your health? Yes, yes it can. And Naturopathic Medicine has been emphasizing this for an extremely long time.
Higher consumption of 'free sugar' such as what is added to baked goods, including candy, chocolate, and especially overprocessed packaged food, can lead to huge negative health outcomes such as heart attack, stroke, obesity, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, depression, and even can be part of a myriad of risk factors for various types of cancers.
So ... what can you do?
1. REDUCE! Gradual reduction of sugars and processed foods can train your taste buds to want less.
2. REPLACE! Choose whole fruits and vegetables instead of pop, juices, or other high sugar foods and drinks.
3. RECOGNIZE! Become more aware of what is in your food. Read nutrition and ingredient labels and pay attention to the amounts of sugar and carbs that are listed.
And if you need help, give us a call. We can assist you in your 'better health' journey.
