✨teeth whitening timeline ✨
If you’re thinking about booking your whitening session, here’s exactly what to expect before, during, and after your appointment to get the best (and longest-lasting) results!
🦷 2 months - the day of your appointment:
Book for your routine dental hygiene appointment. This step is crucial to ensuring optimal results! I do require you’ve had your teeth professionally cleaned before teeth whitening.
🦷 1 - 7 days before your appointment:
Start prepping your teeth by increasing your water intake and switching to a sensitivity toothpaste. This helps hydrate your enamel and reduce the chances of sensitivity during your session.
🦷 30 mins - 1 hr before your appointment:
Brush and floss your teeth thoroughly so your whitening gels can work directly on clean enamel — no plaque barrier in the way! It’s suggested to use a non- fluoridated toothpaste the day of your appointment.
🦷 Whitening time:
Sit back, relax, or even take a nap while the whitening system works its magic. You'll leave with a noticeably brighter smile after just one session.
🦷 24 - 48 hrs after your appointment:
Avoid food and drink that can stain the teeth (coffee, red wine, tea, berries), avoid smoking or va**ng and stay hydrated. Your enamel pores are still open, so this step is key to preventing stains.
🦷24 - 48 hrs after your appointment (final shade reveal):
Your teeth will continue to whiten as the pores close, revealing your true final shade.
🦷 After your appointment:
For best results, book your follow-up treatment! This will depend on your initial shade and lifestyle habits.
