Come Home 2022 to Lester’s Farm Market!

Our corn maze design this year is all about coming on back home to Newfoundland and stopping in during your visit. For a lot of you, we’ve been your family farm since you were younger! Enjoy the maze today in our Field of Fun! Here’s what’s happening at 173 Brookfield Road:

🍔Harvest Hut open 11:30-5:00
🥕Our market is open 10:00-6:00 and is BURSTING with our own veggies!
🍦enjoy an icecream treat from 10:00-6:00

Our Field of Fun is $7 per person and includes: corn maze, wagon rides, barrel train, rubber duck races, giant slide, entrance to flower upick, one sunflower bloom, petting barn, other mazes and games and more!

Freezing fruit is a fast and easy way to preserve produce at its peak maturity. To prevent clumping, freeze individual pieces on a shallow pan uncovered for 1-2 hours. When frozen, transfer to a resealable bag or container and return to freezer, for future use. Use in smoothies, muffins, and pancakes.

Pro tip: Thaw overnight and add to yogurt or oatmeal the next morning for a healthy boost!

Blueberries galore in central NL this year! I enjoyed some family time berry picking with my daughter (who was home visiting from university) and husband this week. We are well stocked and Julia’s gone back to university with a stash as well. We would of had more but one of us (hint he is male) ate more than they picked!! 🙃😝

Wild berries are FREE and freeze well so they can be enjoyed for months 💙 Get yours before they are gone 👍🏻

Quick points to remember.
1. Wash your hands! A lot...
2. Do not wash your produce in soaps, bleaches or other chemicals. A good wash in cold water will do.
3. Stay home and only shop when absolutely necessary. Use online options if available.
4. Oh and did I mention, wash your hands 👍🏻 especially before food prep and before you eat.

I get questions all the time about coconut oil... and I often get strange looks when I say it’s not healthy. It’s very high in saturated fat which is the bad fat. This Marketplace episode does a great job explaining coconut oil and where the hype came from to start. The research wasn’t done on coconut oil rather purified MCT oil that’s derived from coconut oil and only about 15% of coconut oil is MCT!
