Hello,
My name is Jonny Wright and I am a Personal Support Worker. I’m a driven, hard working, compassionate man who is well suited to caring for people with a variety of health.

I currently work for myself and also work for Spark LifeCare in Ottawa. I have various clients including elderly clients with dementia.
The private care services I offer include assistance with meals, mobility, exercises, shopping, games, and outdoor activities. My approach is to adapt to clients’ health conditions and then establish daily routines to stimulate clients and maintain good health.

As well as gaining experience with various clients I also academically expand my knowledge via various courses such as SPK120 - Caring for Adults and Older Adults.
Ontario College credit course.
Also SPK115 - Caring for Children and Youth
and a MOOC from Toronto University
Skills for Dementia Care: the SSLD Approach

My clinical placement experiences included working with Alzheimers and dementia patients at Chartwell Retirement Residences. I also worked with patients with various illnesses in the Pontiac Community Hospital in Shawville.
Skills achieved and assets:
* First Aid/CPR Level C and Basic Lifesaving Skills
* Police Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
* Certification in moving patients safely in health care settings (PDSP card)
* Certificates in hygiene and sanitation, PPE and COVID safety and Infection Prevention and Control measures from CISSO
* N-95 fit tested and vaccinations up to date to work in any health care setting
* Reconciliation Education (Indigenous awareness in the workplace) certification
* Online Course (MOOC) certificates - anti-racism, nutrition, Indigenous cultural competency, stress reduction skills, psychology 101 and physiology��
My rate is $35 per hour. CLSC can possibly subsidize the cost.

I love learning new things via courses and books.

I have completed and gained Certification in Anti-Racism 1, 2 and 3 achieving a Specialization with
Honours from Colorado University.

I have completed Certification in Indigenous Canada from the University of Alberta. A MOOC Course

I have completed Love as a force for Social Justice from Stanford University. MOOC Course

I have completed De-Mystifying Mindfulness from the University of Leiden. MOOC Course with Honours.
Equivalent to MBSR Course.

My LinkedIn account shows many more of my Certifications in many areas. Lots in Social Justice. I
also have studied many courses via the great Courses such as Comparative Religion, Psychology and Neuroscience.

I am always learning new things. I have been in non violent communication study groups. I have taken Algonquin 101 and 201 with Lynn Gehl.

I have studied Colonization particularly on the Irish people as I’m from Ireland.

Having recently graduated in health care as a PSW I have learned so much over the last year and look forward to learning more and working with patients.
