Red flag 🚩 vs. green flag (period edition — gut + inflammation)

We talk a lot about hormones…
but your period is also a reflection of your gut + inflammation levels

Here’s how I think about it clinically:

Red flags 🚩

🚩 Your period pain is bad enough that you need medication just to function.
🚩 Your bleeding is so heavy you’re changing products every hour or two.
🚩 You feel bloated, inflamed, and uncomfortable for days before and during your period.

👉 These aren’t random.
They often point to underlying inflammation, gut imbalances, or poor detoxification pathways.

Green flags:

✅ Mild discomfort for a day or two — nothing that stops you from living your life.
✅ Moderate, predictable flow that follows a consistent pattern each cycle.
✅ Minimal bloating — your digestion feels roughly the same throughout your cycle.
