Keep going!

Don’t forget to clap for yourself as well.

It can be incredibly hard to keep pulling yourself back up into a new day, and trying all over again.

And that can look very different for each of us.

I’ve had days that were a win if I got out of bed, others that remembering to do something or completing something quite simple was a big win.

Many days of trying to remember to breathe easily and enjoy what is in front of me.

All of these days accumulated, and grew into more peaceful days.

A place that took a whole lot of starting over to arrive in.

You deserve to celebrate every step along the way, so keep clapping for yourself and know that I am too.

In our fast paced world it is great to have a hobby - usually something we enjoy doing:)
Well there's a good start... yes finding things we enjoy!
What I know for sure is that inner peace comes when we have extreme focus. I only say extreme focus as in this world it is so easy to get distracted and lose focus and then we move along to the 'next thing'.
It turns out that meditation is just that - extreme focus - maybe on our breath, a candle flame, our heartbeat.
Yet meditation is not what today's missive is about:)
It is about the focus. When we have something that is fully taking our attention other thoughts don't have room to get in there and distract.
So as I am approaching a new puzzle - turning over all the pieces - concentrating on pulling out the edge pieces - referencing the puzzle to understand what colours are on what edges - have I located the corners?
All of that is kinda fun and keeps my focus.
All of that sorting and preparing is fully taking my attention and there is no room for distracting cacophonous head chatter.
Certainly puzzles are not the only way and perhaps not even your way.
Yet for a moment, please reflect, do you have a hobby you enjoy that is a place of focus and non-distraction, and enjoyment?
Have you given it time in your day as of late?
Just a reminder to have a hobby that can take all your focus and that you enjoy.
It is a great deep rest for the thinking brain - Whats yours?
Sometimes we forget to - so remember yours and give it some time - even just a bit at a time.
I know this puzzle will likely take me a week and each time i settle in i feel more calm and know my thinking mind is having a rest from the myriad of thoughts so often going on.
Yes it is the focus and consuming nature of the focus that allows the inner peace.
By the way - have you had your inner peace break today - last week's missive was about setting a daily alarm/time to give yourself a minute or two for some deep breaths - did you decide to give yourself this daily gift?
Yes just one - two minutes for inner peace in your day - its worth it!
