Community is at the heart of what we do. ❤️

The team at Aurora Reunification Village partnered with our neighbours at the John Howard Society for a community clean-up and BBQ here in Brandon, MB. It was a great day spent connecting, giving back, and working together to make a positive impact in our community.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the day such a success!

Big changes are happening at Aurora Brandon Reunification Village as we continue improving the outdoor spaces for our clients to enjoy. 🌿☀️

With the warmer weather finally here, work has officially begun on upgrading the grounds at the Aurora Reunification Village in Brandon. One of the exciting additions currently underway is a brand new deck space that will soon be completed and ready for clients to relax, connect, and spend time outdoors.

We’re looking forward to creating even more welcoming spaces that support healing, recovery, and community. Stay tuned — there’s more to come this season. 💙

Red Dress Day is a national day of remembrance and awareness in Canada that honours Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.

It is a day that brings attention to a heartbreaking and ongoing reality faced by Indigenous communities across the country. The red dress has become a powerful symbol representing the absence of those who are missing, and the need for truth, justice, and meaningful change.

At Aurora, we honour Red Dress Day because healing cannot exist without awareness and understanding. We recognize the importance of listening to Indigenous voices, acknowledging the impacts of intergenerational trauma, and standing in solidarity with families and communities who continue to carry this loss.

We are committed to fostering respect, education, and reconciliation within our spaces. Honouring this day is one way we reflect on our shared responsibility to support safety, dignity, and healing for all people.

We remember. We acknowledge. We continue to learn.

Mental Health Week is a reminder that mental health is something we all have—and something we all need to care for 💚

This year’s theme, “Coming Together,” speaks to the power of connection, community, and support. At Aurora Recovery Centre, we see every day how coming together can change lives. Recovery is not just about overcoming substance use—it’s about rebuilding wellness, finding purpose, and strengthening mental health in every area of life.

We stand alongside the Canadian Mental Health Association in encouraging open conversations, reducing stigma, and reminding everyone that it’s okay to ask for help.

Whether it’s reaching out to a friend, attending a group, getting outside, or simply sitting with someone—you don’t have to do it alone.

When we come together, we heal together.

Spring is here, bringing new growth, fresh starts, and connection 🌱

This week, clients at Aurora Recovery Centre and Aurora Reunification Village began planting seeds for our gardens. Along the way, they’re learning about companion planting—how certain plants support each other’s growth.

It’s a reminder that recovery isn’t meant to be done alone. With the right support, consistency, and care, growth becomes possible.

There’s something grounding about getting your hands in the soil and being present in the moment. We’re excited to watch these gardens grow alongside the individuals who care for them 🌿
