❗️❗️Due to poor weather this afternoon and accidental double booking at The Makwa, today’s Strong & Steady Programming will be cancelled. We will see everyone for the last class before Christmas holiday’s next Wednesday Dec 17th! 🎄👟

❕We want to provide an important update regarding the Children’s Eye Examination Clinic that was being planned for Pikwakanagan.

Unfortunately, the ICEE program offering this service is currently experiencing a lack of funding, and because of this, they are unable to bring the clinic to our community at this time.

The program is actively lobbying with the government to advocate for the importance of free eye care and glasses for Indigenous children, and we truly hope their efforts lead to positive change!

We are very sorry that this opportunity could not move forward as planned. In the meantime, we will continue to look into other programs or options that may be able to offer similar services for our community.

Thank you to everyone who came out last Friday, Nov 28th, to learn and talk about lung and colon cancer screenings. We had an amazing turnout and even better conversations. Your engagement and willingness to learn make these events so meaningful!

A special shoutout to the incredible Indigenous Cancer Care Team from The Ottawa Hospital — we’ve truly appreciated having you join us over these past few months and sharing your knowledge with our community. 🙌

We hope to welcome you back in the new year for more important discussions on cancer awareness and screening. Together, we’re building a healthier, better-informed community. 💛

❄️ New season, new moves!
Our Winter Exercise Programming will be postponed by a week to allow Health Services Staff to attend the Visition of Sandi Wright this Wednesday. We will kick off next week on Wednesday December 3rd — come out, get active, and have some fun with us! 🏃‍♀️💪
