Who can live at Abbeyfield?

Abbeyfield Golden is designed for seniors who want companionship, independence, and home-cooked meals. Whether you’re a long-time local or new to the community, Abbeyfield could be the right fit.

Residents must be able to live independently, with help from friends or family. But not to worry, additional home-care services can be arranged by residents if needed. Abbeyfield is more than housing, it’s a supportive, friendly place to call home!

Did you know?
The very first Abbeyfield house opened in 1956 in London, England with a simple but powerful mission: to give healthy, independent seniors a safe home, warm meals, and a sense of community—regardless of income.

The Abbeyfield vision arrived in Canada in 1960 and today there are 17 Abbeyfield houses across the country. Abbeyfield Golden proudly opened its doors in 2000 on leased land and continues to be managed by a dedicated local volunteer society. For nearly three decades it has provided seniors in our community with comfort, independence, and connection.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Louise
Nagle who was a founding member and served as a
Director of the Abbeyfield House Society St. Paul’s Golden
for many years. Her voluntary commitment to Abbeyfield
House Golden was key to the success of the House today.
The family has kindly requested that, in lieu of flowers,
donations in the name of Louise Nagle be made to
Abbeyfield House Society St. Paul’s Golden.
