Help us to welcome Jed Stein (they/them) to the Golden Wellness Hub! Jed will be offering psychotherapy/counselling services and has opened their schedule this week for free 15 minute consultations. They will be offering in person sessions starting March 15th.

Jed works with teenagers aged 13+, individuals, couples and families navigating addiction, recovery, codependency, dysfunctional family systems, mental health challenges, relationship issues, trauma symptoms, depression, anxiety, unwanted behavioural patterns, and questions around gender, sexuality and self expression.

Together, we reconnect you with yourself and explore how old patterns are still influencing you, helping you accept yourself, get out of your head and into your body, remember your innate capacity to heal, navigate challenging relationships, practise setting boundaries, learn how to meet your own needs, and process emotions. Jed is trained in Somatic Therapy, Internal Family System, Mindfulness CBT, Trauma therapy, and Emotion Focused Couples Counselling.

Jed's sessions are covered by most health insurers (they are currently setting up direct billing so it may take a couple of weeks) and will also offer a sliding scale fee structure for anyone without health benefits or who has reached their maximum for the year.

Help out RMTs! Please take the time to sign this petition to have GST removed from massage treatments. We are the only health care practitioners in our college who still have to collect and remit GST. The more people who sign the more likely the federal government will listen!

An RMT in British Columbia recently created a new federal petition to gather further support for HST/GST exemption for massage therapy in Canada.

This petition is sponsored by MP Brad Vis, who has previously championed similar exemption petitions directed towards the previous federal government.

A related petition, recently presented in the House of Commons by Newfoundland MP Jonathan Rowe, has already mandated a government response. Every new petition presented with maximum signatures further amplifies our collective voice and compels the government to act on this crucial issue.
