📢 Attention Hensall Primary Care Patients!

We want to inform you that our Hensall primary care office will be closed for renovations from November 17 to 20. These renovations are designed to enhance accessibility to our exam rooms, providing a better experience for everyone.

During this time, all Hensall primary care patient appointments will be relocated to our Grand Bend site or will be conducted virtually. Please note that this closure does not affect Hensall's Allied Health offices; those appointments will continue as scheduled at the Hensall location.

As the Hensall primary care staff and patients transition to Grand Bend, please be aware that there will be high traffic volumes and limited parking. To help accommodate everyone, all patients are welcome to use the rear parking lot, while the front lot remains available for those with limited mobility. All patients will still need to enter through the main front entrance.

If you have any questions or need to confirm your appointment location, please call us at 519-238-2362.

Join us for the upcoming workshop — Your Home, Your Future: Strategies for Aging in Place! Taking place at the Hensall Arena on Monday November 17th from 2-3 pm.

In the workshop you will:
- Complete a home safety checklist and learn about quick ways to make your home safe
- Receive information about the Assistive Devices program in Ontario
- Get to know the Ontario Health at home website and resouces
- Practice gentle resistance band exercises with a complementary resistance band to take home
- Practice mindfulness using stress balls, adult colouring and simple breathing exercises
- Connect with other older adults through laughter yoga

Our Story

In 1971, our first medical building was built in Grand Bend on Gill Road with only a small number of doctors, registered nurses and medical office assistants. We adopted the Community Health Centre model in 1999 with the addition of a physiotherapist, health promoter, social worker, dietitian and a diabetes education program.

It was evident that we needed more space, so our Centre moved to its current home at 69 Main Street East in 2004. The newly renovated space in Hensall was opened in 2010 to incorporate teaching into primary care activities.

The Grand Bend and Hensall sites work in collaboration with the Southwest and Erie-St. Clair Local Health Integration Networks, as well as various agencies and services within Lambton and Huron counties. An ongoing partnership with area hospitals allows our Centre to provide the best care and programming possible for our clients, patients and the surrounding community.
