The Water Department has fixed the leak and water should be back on. Remember, if your water is cloudy, let the cold water run until clear.

Emergency water outage due to a water main leak on McCallum View Drive and Pine View Crescent. Repairs are being made however, water may be off until 5:00 p.m. Please see map, below, for addresses affected. Once water service is restored, if you experience discoloured water, please run cold water until clear.

Boundary Excavating, on behalf of the Sewer Department, will be closing McCallum View Drive between Columbia Drive and 78th Avenue for the week, beginning Monday, March 23 at 7:00 a.m. until Friday, March 27, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. for sewer and water repairs. A detour will be set up on 18th Street. Local traffic will be allowed access to and from their homes. Please use caution and obey all traffic signs to keep crews and the public safe.

The Sewer Department will be closing 73rd Avenue between Boundary Drive and 13th Street, for the week beginning Monday, March 23 at 7:00 a.m. to Friday, March 27, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. for sewer service repairs. The road will be open for local traffic only. Please use caution and obey all traffic signs to keep crews and the public safe.

Starting today and continuing through March & April, the City of Grand Forks will be performing fire hydrant inspections and maintenance in various locations throughout the City.

Please be advised that this will take place during the hours of 7:00AM to 3:30PM. As a result of the inspections and testing, you may experience a temporary reduction in water pressure and/or discoloured water. If you experience discoloured water, please run cold water until clear.

RESERVOIR CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

The City’s contractor will be mobilizing on Monday March 9th to begin construction of the water reservoir north of Valley Heights.

Please be aware that traffic traveling through Valley Heights is going to increase for the next few months while construction is underway. Please be particularly cautious if you’re accessing the trail system north of Valley Heights. Ensure equipment operators and drivers can see you. Please obey posted signs and traffic control .

The first few weeks of work will involve an installing the pipes beneath the tank and building the concrete foundation. The panels that will form the walls and roof of the tank are scheduled to arrive in Grand Forks in late March.

Expect road shouldering work on 2nd Street, between 68th Avenue and the railway crossing today, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from approximately 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect. Expect minor delays and please allow extra time for your commute. Please slow down and obey all traffic control personnel and signage.
