⚠️ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: Industrial Way near 5th Street

Please be advised that Industrial Way near the railway crossing at the entrance to South Ruckle will be closed to traffic starting Friday, November 21st. The anticipated reopening is at the end of the day on Tuesday, November 25th.

This closure is necessary to allow for the installation of a new culvert as part of the City's ongoing South Ruckle D**e and Drainage project.

Traffic can access the area via Jasper Avenue and Como Street. The Community Garden Trail to the Darrell J. Priede Bridge is also an option for non-motorized traffic.

The City’s contractors are returning to South Ruckle this week to build the final phase of flood mitigation work in the neighbourhood—the South Ruckle drainage network. The image below shows the basic layout of the planned work.

• Work on Sagamore Ave. is not expected to disrupt traffic.

• The installation of a culvert under Industrial Drive will require a full road closure for several days. More information, including dates, will follow.

• The installation of the discharge through the d**e at 10th St. and 66th Ave. will require the new d**e trail to be closed for several days. More information, including dates will follow.

• There are no plans to close the Community Garden Trail, which connects South Ruckle to the Darrell J. Priede Bridge.

Work on the drainage network is expected to take four to five weeks. Questions and comments are welcome at fmp@grandforks.ca

Seasonal Closure Notice
With a string of chilly mornings, it’s time to say goodbye to the season! The Sani-Dump, our public washrooms, and the Grand Forks Municipal Campground are now officially closed for the year.
We’ll see you again in the spring!

The Grand Forks Fire Department is currently actioning a fire on Covert Road and requests that the public please remain clear of the area. People have been driving by to "have a look" and the unnecessary traffic is impeding the crew's ability to fight the fire and for trucks to deliver water to the site.
