A reminder: individuals with ADHD often operate on a binary schedule, recognizing only 'now' and 'not now.' To effectively manage tasks with distant deadlines, it is essential to divide them into smaller segments and shorter deadlines to create a sense of urgency. Note: people who also have anxiety or a sub type like perfectionism may not experience this the same way.

Let’s talk about Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for a minute.

I’ll be honest — at first, I thought it sounded weird. Even after learning about it and training in it (full disclosure: right up until I actually started using it with clients), I had the same reaction many people do: this sounds too easy… maybe even too good to be true. Like most people, I thought of therapy as a slow process with many layers to unpack, so the idea of clearing up a trauma in as little as 1 session?? How could it be?

That belief was quickly challenged as I watched clients begin to untangle themselves from years of stuck patterns, distress, and emotional pain — often faster than they ever expected (or after so many years of talk therapy with no resolve). I’ve seen people regain a sense of control over both their minds and bodies, sometimes for the first time in a long while.

Many clients describe ART as feeling like “MAGIC.” While there’s solid neuroscience behind it, the experience can feel remarkably freeing. ART allows you to keep the knowledge of what you’ve lived through, without carrying the pain with it.

If you’re curious, I invite you to try it for yourself — and give yourself permission to heal.
