North West Crane Enterprises has been fined $210,000 after pleading guilty to a charge connected to a workplace death near Clairmont in 2022. The work died after being struck with a boom that was sitting on a non-certified pipe stand when the stand collapsed.

The company was originally facing 11 charges, and pleaded guilty to one count under the OHS Code for failing to ensure that equipment or material that could dislodge or move did not pose a danger to workers.

First Responders Appreciation Day is back this Saturday at the Legion. I've been a part of every one of these so far and they are so much fun!

Come by for a free BBQ, demonstrations, and a chance to learn more about and thank your local first responders. There will be lots of things for kids!

Wildland firefighters from British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Alberta, Parks Canada, Ontario, and Nova Scotia gathered under the “Lone Pine”, a tree planted at the memorial site to represent the forests of Canada. These firefighters came from across the country to honour and remember fallen firefighters and support their families.
