Oh how times have changed..

Sometimes, I like to start my morning off with a shot of apple cider vinegar and olive oil. Just to improve digestion, reduce morning blood sugar spikes and support absorption of my fat soluble vitamins like vitamin D.

It's fun for me to take it out of a cute little shot glass because they sure aren't getting used for anything else.😅

Let’s talk about the scale. 👀
When it comes to weight loss, I love a weekly check-in from my clients, especially those working towards metabolic balance. I use my scale myself—but only to track trends, not to obsess over every tiny number.

Because honestly…

#1: You’re working on why you want to feel better… why let a random number ruin your whole day?
#2: The scale fluctuates like crazy based on bowel movements, water, sleep, hormones, time of the month… basically everything. 😂

What’s actually more important?
✅ Inches lost
✅ How your clothes fit
✅ And most of all—how you feel in your body

So use the scale as a tool, not a judge. Let it guide you—not control you. 💛✨

In my opinion.. having hobbies plays a part in being happy and healthy. It’s way too easy to get wrapped up in our busy lives and forget to do the things we love—or even try something new. Lately, I’ve been making a real effort to change that! Fun fact: doing something new can literally boost your dopamine levels 🧠✨

So here’s some pottery and a sweater I’ve been working on recently. Did any of it turn out good? Absolutely not. Were all those bowls supposed to be cups? Yes they were. Am I ready to give up on the sweater? Oh, 100%. But did I have a blast learning new crafts? Hell ya I did!😁

Happy Halloween👻
Here are some spooky myths you may have been told to believe.

#1 Eggs are not the cause of your high cholesterol and cutting them out is not going to dramatically reduce it. Eggs yolks actually have some beneficial fats that help reduce inflammation, support ing cardiovascular health

#2 Not all fats are bad and they do not need to be cut completely out of the diet. Our body actually needs healthy fats such as omega 3 and omega 6 that can only be obtained through food. So keep eating the nuts, avocados, eggs, flax, and olive oil, but avoid trans and hydrogenated fats.

#3 Despite popular belief, we do not need to over consume protein. The average person only needs 1 g of protein per IDEAL kg of body weight. Eating more than we need increases inflammation in the body and can eventually lead to serious health risks.

#4 While many people have successful weight loss with fasting it is not best for everyone. If you are fasting, 14-16 hours per day is plenty.

I have been bad with taking pictures lately, but here is some food I've been enjoying this month.
It's been exciting as I have been reintroducing foods back into my diet.

When in doubt, just make a simple salad to eat. You may want to reach in the pantry for something quick and easy, but chopping a couple of veggies up takes less than 5 minutes.

I brought rice back into my diet, and I had some cauliflower crust pizzas waiting in my freezer for when I could eat them 😋 . Always read labels. Did you know there is rice flour in some cauliflower crust?

I had my first slice of bread in about 4 months!! Thanks to my mamma for experimenting with different flours. She was able to make me a buckwheat and cassava flour loaf🤩

I brought back coconut milk in this sweet potato soup

And I think I have come to like scrambled mung bean eggs more than regular eggs. I like to add black beans, tomatoes, onion, garlic, pepper, avocado, and saurkraut to mine 👌

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Are you taking advantage of the remaining good weather?
We spent the entire weekend outside and climbed our first mountain in Grande Cache.

I found it challenging to get motivated, but sometimes you simply have to push yourself, and the payoff is well worth it for the views and the energy gained from the mountains and forest.🏔🌳

The other night I was able to reintroduce coconut back into my diet 🥳. And I started with this delicious dilly, sweet potato, coconut milk based soup 😋.
This is exciting for me because I LOVE coconut.
🤞 crossing my fingers no symptoms show up in the coming days.
