January has been an inspiration of mine since the moment I saw this quote by her. As a doula and a woman who has birthed 4 children, this right here is what drives me! The RIGHT for every single birthing person to be given informed choices and have their wishes respected AND supported. You ask a woman when her child started walking and they can probably tell you a rough guess. But you ask a woman about her birth and she will be able to tell you exactly what happened and how she felt. Birth matters. How we are treated in birth matters! Demand respect and arm yourself with the support you need to have the birth you desire. 🤰🏻💪🤱🏽
