Happy New Year to you and your family! We hope that your holiday season was enjoyable, restful, and filled with special moments shared with loved ones.

As we welcome the New Year, weโ€™re excited to share several updates and new developments at Northwest Wellness Centre that we believe will be of great benefit to you and your health. A lot has been happening at the clinic, and we look forward to continuing to support your wellness journey in the year ahead.

Mental Health Services

Carla and Charlene Eckstrom are among a very limited number of certified child play therapist in Grande Prairie, but they are also trained for counselling adults as well. They bring a wealth of experience and training to help people with their mental health concerns.
Expanded Massage Therapy Team
We are also excited to welcome two talented massage therapists to the Northwest Wellness Centre team: Denver Medicus and Regan Hunter. Their skills, professionalism, and dedication further strengthen our commitment to providing comprehensive, hands-on care for pain management, recovery, and overall wellness. Denver is experienced with therapeutic and deep muscle techniques like hot rocks, cupping and trigger points. He is currently finishing his Level 1 Craniosacral with the Upledger Institute. Regan uses various deep muscle techniques and cupping to help her clients with their soft tissue complaints.

Advanced Acupuncture Training
Dr. Jen, Dr. Brett, and Dr. Jordyn have recently completed additional training in advanced acupuncture techniques designed to help address difficult muscle and joint pain. These expanded treatment options allow us to better support your healing, recovery, and long-term mobility.

Expanded Hours of Operation
To better serve our patients and clients, we have expanded our regular hours. The Centre is now open two evenings each week for patients who cannot attend appointments during regular daytime hours. We are also available most Saturdays, except during long weekends. We are now set up for online booking, check out our website!

Our updated hours are as follows:

Wednesday: 7:00 am โ€“ 8:00 pm

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธDr. Brett is the guy who somehow knows a little bit about everything. Heโ€™s passionate about helping patients understand how their bodies work, especially when it comes to the nervous system. Come for the adjustment and stay for the brainy side notes.

"We have enjoyed practicing in the Peace Country for the last 31 years and have operated at the Northwest Wellness Centre in Grande Prairie since 2009. We have witnessed a lot of change over this time, and our experience has taught us that you canโ€™t stand still. Learning new therapeutic techniques in chiropractic and acupuncture is crucial for staying current and providing the best therapy to our patients. Investing in new equipment like lasers, shockwave machines, and various electrical modalities helps us treat more complex problems that our patients present with. This summer we completed renovations to the second floor to provide more space for new services. We developed a large common room that can be used got workshops, yoga practice, and educational classes. The room is available to rent on an hourly or daily basis to other health care practitioners who need a safe and inviting space to help their clients."

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿถโœจ
Iโ€™m Lucy, your office dog and self-appointed Chief Happiness Officer here at the centre. I may be small (Iโ€™m a Yorkie, after all), but my job is big: spreading joy, stealing hearts, and following Dr. Adams absolutely everywhere.

A little about me:
Iโ€™m a rescue pup who found her forever home and now her forever office. Youโ€™ll usually spot me trotting faithfully behind Dr. Adams โ€” whether sheโ€™s heading to a meeting or checking on patients

๐Ÿพ Hereโ€™s what you can expect from me on a typical day:
โ€ข Shadowing Dr. Adams like itโ€™s my full-time job (because it is)
โ€ข Offering emotional support during stressful moments
โ€ข Keeping the floor and foot stools warm with strategic nap placements
โ€ข Supervising break time snacks with laser focus
โ€ข Random bursts of zoomies when the mood strikes
โ€ข Making sure everyone gets their daily dose of ME!
