This Targeted Initiative for Older Workers is a partnership funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta to help unemployed mature workers learn new skills to assist them in finding and keeping new jobs. Eligibility requirements are that the participants are unemployed, within the age group, legally entitled to work in Canada and lacking in marketable skills pertaining to job search and career opportunities. The program is designed to encourage participants to increase their technical skills, learn current job search strategies, build stronger communication skills and access training and employment opportunities to ensure a productive work force. Thorough assessments, specific employability workshops, developing service and training plans along with access to the job placement program and workplace training funding are the focus. LifeMark Health Centre will provide mobile services to deliver this program to Grande Prairie and the surrounding area including, Spirit River, Rycroft, Beaverlodge and Hythe.
