⛅🌱 Spring is on the horizon, bringing renewed energy to site as crews look forward to improved weather and continued momentum on construction. Despite the challenges of spring thaw and muddy conditions, progress remains steady as the project moves through major phases.

The structure is steadily coming to life, with key milestones taking shape, including basement walls, shear walls, stairwells, and elevator cores. With slab work progressing and timber installation soon to begin, the building’s footprint is becoming more defined each day.

🌿 Designing with Nature in Mind 🌿

Biophilia is the human connection to nature and it’s at the heart of the Maskwa Medical Center design. Through light, space, and natural materials, Maskwa is designed to support calm, comfort, and well-being for patients, families, and staff. Research shows that biophilic design can reduce stress and enhance overall well-being, values that align deeply with Maskwa’s vision of care.

The mass timber structural beams featured here will form the building’s core, bringing warmth and natural beauty into the space while reflecting the land and communities we serve.

Recently, our Chairman Ken Drysdale and Director Sherry Drysdale had the opportunity to tour the mass timber facility, gaining firsthand insight into how these materials are crafted.

We look forward to sharing more as Maskwa continues to take shape. 🌱

Construction continues to move steadily ahead! Crews continue with rebar installation and the placement of column forms, while also prepping and pouring the first concrete slab, an important milestone in the build. Once the slab is complete, work will shift toward preparing for Mass Timber installation. These are significant steps forward in the project and bring us closer to seeing the building come to life.
