👀 What you see in this picture is a big step in the right direction for the USA.
There’s a clear emphasis on protein, healthy fats, and vegetables ,and less on carbohydrates. We love that!
At Triskel Health, we do have a few concerns⚠
👉 The protein portions may be too high for most people, and the type of protein matters. Relying heavily on certain animal proteins can push saturated fat intake too high, increasing disease risk.
👉By emphasizing fruit and minimizing whole grains, this chart may oversimplify carbohydrate guidance. When in reality, all carbs can fit into a healthy diet in moderation. And that moderation amount looks different for everyone.
That said we love the focus on healthy fats 🥑🫒
Many of out clients fear fat, but your body needs it for hormones, brain health, and nutrient absorption.
The government can offer general guidelines, but they can’t take into account your health history, activity level, lifestyle and goals.
