This is your reminder: Don’t just watch the art. Create it. We have limited "Captured Connection" sessions available. Will you be the next story we tell?

There is something different about the spirit of a woman in the North.

We are built a little tougher, but sometimes we carry a little more than we should. This is your invitation to step into the Warrior Woman Experience. Hosted right here at Hearts in Line Equine, we’ve teamed up with North of Ordinary Images to capture the moment you finally feel Unburdened.

You’ve seen Luna and me—now it’s your turn to create this for yourself. Whether you’re from GP, Sexsmith, or just down the road in Clairmont, come rediscover your "Steadfast" heart.

Have you ever wondered why a simple touch in a horse's mouth can trigger a total body "reset"?

In today's session with Luna, we are practicing the Gum Release. This isn't just about relaxation; it’s about communicating directly with the horse’s internal "braking system."

The Science Behind the Touch:

• Vagus Nerve Activation: The gums and mouth are incredibly sensitive and rich in nerve endings connected to the Vagus Nerve. By resting a hand here, we stimulate the Parasympathetic Nervous System—shifting the horse from "Fight or Flight" into "Rest and Digest."

• The TMJ Connection: Tension often starts in the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ). Because the jaw is neurologically linked to the poll and the entire spinal column, releasing the jaw creates a "downward domino effect" of relaxation all the way to the tail.

• Neurological Grounding: This technique helps the horse "come back" to their body. It is a vital part of our Grounded pillar at Hearts in Line Equine—represented by the symbol of beats to bring the energy back down to earth.

What to Look For:
When you see Luna lick, chew, or soften her eyes, she isn't just "being good." She is physically releasing stored cortisol and neurological stress.

True horsemanship isn't just about what we do to the horse, but how we help the horse feel safe enough to heal themselves.

In the quiet of the arena, something shifts.

We often carry burdens that aren't ours to hold—stress from the week, expectations from others, or old stories that no longer serve us. At Hearts In Line Equine, we believe the path to your truest self starts with four sacred pillars:

1. Unburdened (The Stone) 🪨
2. Steadfast (The Wood) 🪵
3. Leadership (The Ribbon) 🎀
4. Grounded (The Energy) ✨

In this video, you’re seeing the fourth energy in action. Luna, my Percheron spotted draft, isn’t just a horse; she is a partner in the healing process. Her ancient energy helps clear the static so you can finally hear your own heart again.

We don't just ride; we heal, we feel, and we evolve.

Are you feeling called to clear your path? I am Sharifa Leigh, your Equine Energy Guide. Let’s manifest the life you were meant to lead together.

They asked if we were . Looking at the thermometer hit -27°C, I started to wonder too. ❄️🌬️

We didn't just "deal" with the ; we emerged into them. High winds, stinging snow, and a level of cold that makes your gear (and your bones) ache. But when you’re chasing the Ice Queen, you don't wait for a "nice day." You wait for the storm.

Was the frostbite risk worth the art? Results are coming soon. You can decide for yourself if we’ve lost our minds... or if we found something legendary.

The North doesn't play. ❄️

Some people wait for the day. We go out and create it! Even if it’s -23°C. 🌬️

This collaboration wasn't just a shoot, it was a battle against the elements. We wanted the wind, the real snow, and the raw energy to bring the Ice Queen alive that you just can't fake.

Are we a little too for some people? Yes. And we’re just getting started. 😈🤪😉
for the results!!

Before you ever put a foot in the stirrup, is your horse’s mind actually in the arena with you? 🐴

Today’s Hearts in Line Horsemanship Tip is all about the pre-ride check-in. I’m asking Luna to back out of my space and disengage her hind end—not just to move her feet, but to focus her mind.

What I’m looking for: That "lick and chew" (you’ll see it at the end!). It’s the ultimate sign that she’s processing, releasing tension, and ready to partner up.

Notice there’s no pulling on the rope—just energy, intention, and communication. 🌿

Do you have a go-to groundwork move before you mount up? Let’s talk about it below! 👇

If you can lead your horse, you can load your horse. 🚛💨

Moving day is high-stress for everyone, but for a horse, being asked to step into a dark, enclosed box and be driven away is completely unnatural. It’s the ultimate test of the bond you’ve built.

Today I’m loading two horses at the same time. Ten has historically struggled with loading. People often ask for the "secret" to trailer loading, but the truth is simple:

Loading is just advanced leading.

If you don’t have the "draw" and the leadership in the arena, you won't have it at the trailer. Here are three things I keep in mind to be the anchor my horses need:

• Check Your Internal Compass: Horses can feel your heart rate from 4 feet away. If your anxiety is spiked, they assume the trailer is a trap. Before you even walk to the door, take a breath. Be the calm, quiet leader they want to follow, not the frustrated one they feel they have to escape.

• Listen to the Communication: If they stop at the trailer, they aren't being "bad." They are communicating. Are they scared? Are they unsure of their footing? Instead of getting upset, take a second to look through their eyes. What are they trying to tell you in that moment?

• Be the Safe Harbor: It takes an incredible amount of trust for a horse to allow themselves to be locked into a trailer. You have to be the source of safety. When you are 100% present and grounded, that "box" becomes just another place to be with you.

Don’t be afraid to take a breath, think, and reset. Leadership isn't about force; it’s about being the person your horse chooses to trust when things get scary.

Does your horse struggle with the trailer? Let's talk about those "moving day" hurdles in the comments. 👇

Do we sometimes expect our horses to give us everything without stopping to ask what they need in return?

When a horse becomes reluctant to join us in the field or seems to lose the "spark" for their job, it’s often a sign of a communication gap. It might be that they feel overworked, under-recognized, or simply feel that their efforts aren't being noticed. When a horse stops enjoying their work, it’s usually because they feel their voice isn't being heard.

At Hearts in Line Equine, we specialize in bridging that gap. Our goal is to help you:

• Facilitate true communication rather than just giving commands.

• Learn to read your horse’s subtle body language and feedback.

• Provide the recognition your horse needs to feel like a valued partner.

• Restore the joy in your horse's "job" by building a foundation of mutual respect.

Let’s move beyond just "using" our horses and start truly working with them. When your horse knows you are listening, the transformation in your partnership is incredible.

Think keeping your distance keeps you safe? Think again. 🤚🚫

In the horse world, we’re often taught to stay out of the "bubble" for safety, but what if I told you that getting closer is the key to true security?

As a neurodivergent equestrian, I’ve learned that the safest place to be is in total alignment with your horse’s energy and movements.

When we bring horses into the conversation instead of treating them like robots, everything shifts:

• Feel the Rhythm: Being physically closer allows you to stay "in tune" with their body and movements before they even happen. 💃

• True Connection: Proximity builds a level of communication that a lead rope alone never can.

• The Relaxation Effect: When you stop resisting the space between you, both your nervous system and the horse’s can finally find that "grounding energy" and relax. 🧘‍♀️🐴

This connection is non-negotiable, especially if you plan on riding. If we aren't communicating on the ground, we can’t expect them to understand us once we’re on their backs.

Let’s stop giving commands and start having conversations. 🗣️✨

"Does the idea of getting closer to your horse feel like a 'safe' move or a 'scary' one? Let’s talk about it in the comments! 👇

And if you’re ready to build a heart-centered connection with your herd, hit that follow button—we’re on a mission to reach 1,000 strong! 🚀"
