Today we recognize and appreciate our two gals that keep the office running - Happy Administration Professional day Bonita and Carlee.

We are so lucky to have you as the person that our patients see and hear from first Bonita. She is always happy to help and really takes pride in taking care of you. From making appointments, to explaining treatments to keeping your kiddos entertained while you're at your appointment - Bonita is a rockstar and we love her!

Carlee is the back end of our office these days. She spends her days between cleaning teeth and managing the crew. Her back office usually has the door open so you can say a quick hello as you walk by and she is the gal that answers all the questions. She has been part of Gravelbour Dental since day 1 and has spent time in most roles throughout the office!

Most of us know it's necessary to clean out food and plaque that collects between our teeth. Dental floss and interdental cleaners help clean these hard-to-reach areas. An interdental brush is a small brush specially designed to clean between your teeth, where a regular toothbrush does not reach.

If you have a difficult time with your flossing technique, an interdental cleaner may be a better option for you! 👍

Happy Dental Assistant week!

Our Dental Assistant is better than yours--- sorry it's just the truth! Our day would not run nearly as smooth, we wouldn't be able to see nearly as many patients, our patients wouldn't be taken care of nearly as much as they are and there would be way less laughter around the office if we didn't have Alexa!

This young lady does it all! She's the top of the top and we are so thankful to have her.

Please share your favourite thing about Alexa... we know there are lots to choose from.

Jen is our Sterilization assistant - though she may not get her own week on the calendar she is very, very appreciated. She recently joined out team and we would be lost and run off our feet without her. Thank you Jen for all you do and for always being willing to try new things and jump in where help is needed --- we appreciate you!

Good oral hygieine tips:

🔹 Brush at least twice a day for two minutes.
🔹 Floss daily.
🔹 Use mouthwash to prevent bad breath
🔹 Limit sugary food and drink.
🔹 Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months, or when the bristles start to fray.
🔹 Schedule regular dental checkups & dental hygiene appointments.

In babies and young children, thumb-sucking is common and generally nothing to worry about. Most children will naturally break the habit on their own, but if they are still sucking their thumbs pretty intensely at 5 years old, it may lead to problems with their teeth and overall oral health. 👶
