Wednesday November 25, 2020 is Blue Door Day! Our chef will be preparing the soup and our Board members will be on hand to tell you all about it! Come and see us at Seasons Pharmacy and Culinaria!

Soup's On Reimagined!

For the past several years the Sudbury Basin Potters invited 600 people to St Andrews Place over two days to choose a pottery bowl and enjoy a bowl of homemade soup.

Can you imagine that now? Nope.

We still want to support the Blue Door Soup Kitchen https://www.facebook.com/bdsoupkitchen/ https://bluedoorsoup.ca/ so we found another way. We are partnering with Seasons Pharmacy and Culinaria to offer one hundred handmade bowls, and the opportunity to enjoy a bowl of homemade soup between November 20 and Nov 30th!

Only 30 bowls will be on display at any time, so there is no need to be ‘first’ in line. New bowls will be added as needed. All the bowls will be priced at $12, and all the money will be donated to the Blue Door Soup Kitchen.

Bowls will be available until they run out, and soup will be made every day from November 20-30 (except Sundays). Every day that “Soup’s On” at Seasons, a guest chef will be making soup on site at 815 Lorne St. Sudbury. Soup will be available for $8/500 ml (plus deposit on the jar, or bring a jar), or book a time to dine in the store. We will accept donations for the Blue Door everyday.

Seasons will be taking reservations for groups of 2 or 3, so please call 705-222-2200 to ensure
your spot. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9 to 6, and Saturday from 10 to 4. If you have a reservation for dine in, we will make sure that you do get a bowl, but choice might be limited if you book later in the month. For Dine-in, we will be respecting all Health Unit recommendations, and these might be subject to short notice cancellation.

Dear Friends of the Blue Door Soup Kitchen,

The Blue Door Soup Kitchen provides a takeout lunch, Monday to Friday, from 11:00am - 1:00pm. The soup kitchen serves an average of 150 people per day. The clients are diverse in need; while some are homeless, many people simply do not have enough money to make it to the end of the month.

Each lunch bag contains a bottle of water, a small container of milk, a salad, a sandwich, and a piece of fruit or granola bar. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, a hot food item, such as chili, soup or mac and cheese replaces the sandwich.

The Blue Door Soup Kitchen needs continuous donations of bottled water, and individually wrapped dessert/snack items such as granola bars and puddings to meet the demand. To help clients who are struggling nutritionally, a donation of food supplement products such as Boost or Ensure would be greatly appreciated.

Help the Blue Door Soup Kitchen help hungry people.

If you have experience raising funds for charities, writing sponsorship letters and/or grant writing, please contact the Blue Door Soup Kitchen. They need your ideas and experience on their team.
