The Direct Funding Program gives people with disabilities the ability to hire their own attendants, set their own schedules, and shape daily life in a way that works best for them.

🧡 November is Indigenous Disability Awareness Month ( )

This month, we celebrate the achievements and valuable social, economic, and cultural contributions of Indigenous persons with disabilities across Canada.

Established in 2015 by Indigenous Disability Canada/British Columbia Aboriginal Network on Disability Society, IDAM also raises awareness about the barriers Indigenous persons with disabilities continue to face.

Many experience challenges that include limited access to healthcare, housing, education, and culturally appropriate support services. These barriers highlight the need for greater understanding, advocacy, and inclusion across all communities.

It is a time for reflection, learning, and action. Together, we can listen, understand, and work toward a more inclusive and accessible society for everyone.
