Did you know Lake Wanapitei, near Sudbury, was formed by a massive meteorite impact about 35 million years ago? ☄️💥

To the region’s early Indigenous peoples, the lake’s unique shape resembled a giant molar tooth, inspiring its name “Wanapitei,” meaning “Molar Tooth.” 🦷✨

Today, Lake Wanapitei proudly holds a remarkable record — it’s the largest lake in the world entirely contained within the boundaries of a single city! 🌊🏙️
