Due to various unforseen circumstances including a lack of Registered Midwives at the clinic and Midwives on leaves the practice will be closing as of March 15th, 2017. For all the mom's who formula feed their babies here is an excellent resource. As Midwives we support and assist women who Breastfeed and Formula feed. Information is key. Hope that this resource is helpful to women and families.There is absolutely no shame in feeding your baby formula if that is what you have chosen or if it wasn't your choice but your baby needed to have formula for medical reasons. Many women suffer from medical conditions that do not permit breastfeeding and thankfully there is another option to provide nutrients to newborns.

The document provides specific guidance on the most appropriate practices in the different steps during the preparation of PIF in these two types of settings. Cleaning and sterilization of feeding and preparation equipment is an important prerequisite to the safe preparation of PIF
