Extreme Winter Weather Conditions

The City of Greater Sudbury and surrounding areas are currently experiencing severe winter weather. CGS has declared a Significant Weather Event and has deployed all available resources to respond to the storm, however, it may take longer than usual to maintain local roadways.

Due to extreme conditions, major roadways including Municipal Road 80, Municipal Road 35, and Municipal Road 55 as well as all side streets may not be maintained at this time except for emergency service needs.

We are asking all residents to remain at home and stay off the roadways until further notice.

Municipal crews continue to work diligently to reduce the impact of this weather event on our community.

Please remember that 9-1-1 is for emergencies only. It should not be used to request information about weather or road conditions. For municipal service inquiries, please call 3-1-1. For provincial service inquiries, please call 2-1-1.

Do you know someone who has difficulty dressing every day or has recently had surgery, resulting in limited mobility? If so, come and visit our selection of adaptive clothing.

Each item features secure fastenings with either snaps or velcro. We have a range of mens and ladies robes, shirts, pants, and bibs, as well as slippers and slip-resistant socks, ideal for those in assisted-living settings or living at home.

At Hanmer Rx Pharmacy we can fill prescriptions for all family members, including your pets! We have access to most items that are available at the veterinary office.

Though we cannot prescribe medicine for your pets, by bringing us your prescription we can offer a convenient place to have it filled.

*We also accept all prescriptions from online vets*
