Two things in season right now...and they both can be found in your garden.
Garlic scapes (if you planted garlic that is) should be up and ready, and Chickweed.
Chickweed is a great edible (I often add it to salad and dry it and make green powder mixes along with plantain leaf and stinging nettle).
I take the two and make large batches of pesto.
I don't have an exact recipe, but it comprises of 1 part Garlic scapes (more if you like it super garlicky), 2 parts fresh Chickweed, Olive Oil, parmesan cheese, walnuts, lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste.
Great on boiled eggs, Crackers, baguettes, in pasta dishes, etc :)
